Codes of Conduct

Coach’s Code of Conduct 

Be a positive role model and lead by example.
Always be concerned with your player’s safety.
Maintain open communications.
Help with the overall development of all your players.
Always try to conduct fun and challenging practices. Adjust to player’s skill level
Players deserve praise, not yelling. Make it a fun and rewarding experience.
Help teach sportsmanship, teamwork, and discipline.
When playing other towns (home or away), conduct yourself in a professional manor and always remember you are representing the Town of Hoosick.
Winning is a consideration, but realize sportsmanship, development, and having fun are more important.
If ejected from a game, the board will be reviewing the incident and additional consequences could occur.
There will be a NO TOLERANCE policy for

  • Profanity
  • Violence
  • Drugs, alcohol, or other controlled substances
  • Gangs or gang related activities
  • Immorality
  • Racial and/or sexual slurs

(This includes clothing to the same respect.)  

Consequences will be administered depending on the severity at the discretion of the coach with the approval of the board as follows:

  • Written warning with the player, parents, coach, and board member present
  • Suspension from one game, possible two games
  • Removed from the team
 

Player’s Code of Conduct

Have fun!
Work on improving your skills.
Gain knowledge of your sport.
Learn the rules and play by them.
Learn teamwork, sportsmanship, and discipline.
Listen to and respect your coaches.
Be on time for practices and games.
Never argue with the umpires.
Never roll the eyes or make improper body language towards anyone.
Never throw your bat, helmet, glove, or anything else when angry.
There will be a NO TOLERANCE policy for:

  • Profanity

  • Violence

  • Drugs, alcohol, or other controlled substances

  • Gangs or gang related activities

  • Immorality

  • Racial and/or sexual slurs

(This includes clothing to the same respect.)

  • Written warning with the player, parents, coach, and board member present

  • Suspension from one game, possible two games

  • Removed from the team

 

Parent / Guardian Code of Conduct

Do not force your child to participate.
Practice with your child at home.

Do not embarrass your child or anyone else child.
Encourage your child to learn and play by the rules.
Sportsmanship- Win with grace and lose with dignity.
Always remember this league is for youth development and having fun.
When playing other towns (home or away), always remember you are representing the Town of Hoosick.
Recognize the importance of volunteer coaches and treat them with respect.
Recognize the importance of the officials and treat them with respect.
Enforce the positives of the game, whether winning or losing.
Applaud the player’s efforts in victory and in defeat.
Profanity, violence, racial/sexual slurs, and/or repeated abuse towards coaches and/or umpires will not be tolerated. If any of these situations happen, consequences will be administered depending on the severity at the discretion of the board as follows:

  • Written warning from the board

  • Suspension from one, possible two games

  • Banned from the watching any games (home or away) for the season
